Crafts From The Shed
Based in her garden shed workshop; Michelle makes unique hand crafted items including stylishly enchanting handcrafted oak fairy doors, 'shroom' logs and blocks; with individually created mushroom lights. From selecting and sanding just the right pieces of oak to use; to making every single mushroom; Michelle has a great eye for placement and detail as the mushrooms all look like they have sprouted naturally. Not just for a child's room... these would look beautiful on your own bookcase, corner shelf or anywhere that you want to add a little magical atmosphere.

Craft From The Shed
Describe your art/craft?
I create wooden items with subtle lights. All items are made from wood that was destined for the rubbish heap or fire.
How long have you been creating? How did you learn your craft or were you self-taught?
I’ve been creating and crafting on and off for the past 16 years. It started as an escape from family life for one evening a week and evolved over time into a passion. These wooden items are a fairly new adventure, I love working with the wood even the sanding, although I’m sure at times I won’t say that!
What are your favourite art/craft 'tools of the trade'?
I would probably say my sander or any of the new power tools I have gained during exploring my new craft
Where is your creative space?
I have two spaces I use, one is my shed, this is for the ideas and the dirty work, sanding and fetling. The other is my kitchen bench which is where I create the lights and finish the items
What do you watch or listen to when you're creating?
I like listen to podcasts while I create, politics, true crime and ghosts seem to be the regulars at the moment
What's your best selling product?
It’s a pretty even spread over all the wooden items but I guess the Fairy doors edge it a little
Favourite thing you've ever created? Do you still have it, or did you sell/gift it?
I think my first log which start this all off is my favourite. It isn’t perfect and I have refined all my items since but it’s where it all started
Random fact about yourself?
The first record I purchased was Club Tropicana by Wham
What new craft would you love to try?
Sea glass jewellery or stained glass
Where can customers buy your products?
You can contact me through my craft from the shed Facebook page or via email
Give a shout-out to a fellow artist or crafter you admire!
I have been very fortunate to meet some amazing artists and crafters and they have all been very welcoming of this imposter into their gang.
But I would like to give a shout to SheSewsTotes - Linda Connor she makes amazing bags and is a lovely lady
