The Venue and Available Facilities
Location
The market is held in the United Reformed Church Hall, just off Southwold's High Street, IP18 6DS
(entrance is via Woodley's Yard next to the old Barclay's Bank building).
Time
The market is held on selected Saturdays during the year and is open to the public between 10am - 4pm.
Toilets
Toilets are for use by our stallholders. Please note: these are NOT public toilets, however customers of the market are welcome to use, but please ask. There are two unisex toilets and one accessible toilet. Please leave the toilets as you would wish to find it.
Wheelchair Accessible
The venue is wheelchair accessible and all on one level with no steps. If visiting the venue on a large mobility scooter, space may be limited if busy and we kindly ask that care is taken when maneuvering, however if any accidental breakages of a stallholders products should occur we kindly ask that these are paid for.
Dog-friendly Event
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead and must be kept under control. If a small toilet accident should happen we kindly ask that you clean up (cleaning materials can be provided). We appreciate some dogs are curious and some have waggy tails, however if any accidental breakages of a stallholders products should occur we kindly ask that these are paid for.
Family-friendly Event
The market is a family-friendly event but we ask that young children are supervised. We appreciate children like to have fun, however if any accidental breakages of a stallholders products should occur we kindly ask that these are paid for.
Parking
The venue does not have its own car park, but parking is free on the High Street. There are short stay bays available for 30mins or up to 3 hours for Blue Badge holders displaying their clock.
A free car park is located at the junction of Godyl Road and Gardner's Road next to Nursemaid's Park Green. There is also plenty of free parking on Southwold Common (turn into York Road by the bus stop and carry straight on into Carnsey Road).

Close to public transport
If you are coming via public transport, the venue is just a few minutes walk from the bus stop located at the junction of High Street and York Road. There are regular bus services from Beccles, Lowestoft; and Bungay via Halesworth.
Artisan Crafts
Southwold Makers Market is an artisan craft market and as such all items on display are made by the stallholders themselves, not mass produced items bought from wholesalers.
Original Artwork
Artists as well as crafters attend the market often selling original artwork as well as prints.
Cash payments welcomed
Cash payments are always welcomed.
Card payments welcomed
Many stallholders accept card payments however there is no wi-fi at the venue and a mobile signal is not guaranteed. Card readers provided will vary for each stallholder.
Close to cash point
If required, the nearest cash point machine is provided by Co-Op in the Market Place. Cash withdrawals are also available from the Post Office on the High Street.
Just A Card Campaign
Southwold Makers Market is a supporter of  Just A Card, a campaign which encourages people to support, value and buy from artists, makers, independent shops and small businesses. Although there are currently no Covid restrictions in place should Government guidelines change at any time and restrictions be re-instated, customers will be notified via this website and by notices displayed at the market.
Minimise the spread of Covid
All surfaces are cleaned in advance with anti-bacterial/anti-viral cleaners to help minimise the spread of Covid and other viruses.
Hand sanitiser
Hand sanitiser is provided at the entrance for customers to use. Some stallholders may also provide sanitiser on their stalls for customers to use.
Face masks available
Although the wearing of face masks is no longer compulsory, please be respectful of other people who may still wish to wear one. If you wish to wear a mask and do not have your own please ask and one can be provided for you.
Hand washing facilities available
If you should wish to wash your hands at any time, hand basins are available in the toilets and liquid soap is provided.
Spacious venue
The venue is spacious enough to allow for social distancing. Although this is no longer required by the Government please be respectful of other people who may still wish to keep 2m/6ft apart.
One-way system
Although the one-way system is no longer in place, should Government guidelines change at any time this may be re-instated. Notices and directional arrows would then be clearly displayed at the market.
