Lisa Goodridge Author (Ellie Carter)
Under the pseudonym 'Ellie Carter', local author Lisa Goodridge has written her first novel All Saints?....
"Three women, three friends, three saints… or are they?
Beautiful and determined Hayley, careworn and devoted Sophie, selfless but self-doubting Lucy – they share faith and unfulfilled longings as they confront painful challenges of infertility, adoption and singleness.
But when temptations arise, to what lengths will each go to satisfy their desires? What will it mean to believe and what trusts will they be willing to break?"

Interview With A Maker
Name/Business
Lisa Goodridge (pen name Ellie Carter). I’m an author.
Describe your writing style?
I write in a narrative style with straightforward vocabulary and sentence structure, aiming to draw the reader into the plot quickly.
How long have you been writing? How did you get into creative writing, is this something you've always wanted to do?
Writing a book had been an ambition since childhood. I met my old school English teacher at a school reunion some years ago. He expressed his disappointment that I wasn’t writing, which encouraged me to give it a go. It took me three years to actually write a novel, from first words to publication.
What are your favourite writing 'tools of the trade'?
I started writing bits of plot and conversations in a notebook with a pencil, in no particular order. My next tools were a pair of scissors and a reel of Sellotape! I then graduated to a laptop.
Where is your creative space?
Most of my writing has been done on holiday, particularly in a caravan in France.
What do you listen to when you're writing?
Nothing at all. I need silence!
What's your best selling product?
I have only written one book “All Saints?” so far, but I am in the process of writing a sequel.
Favourite thing you've ever written?
I’m particularly fond of chapter three, where ‘it’ happens.
Random fact about yourself?
I’m a vicar’s wife and an adoptive parent (as is one of my characters).
What new craft would you love to try?
I would love to make my own greeting cards.
Where can customers buy your books?
All good bookshops or directly from me. Email: [email protected]
Give a shout-out to a fellow artist or author you admire!
Jane Langston Art. Jane helped me a lot with my book launch and is a brilliant artist.
