That Book Guy
Local author Nigel AKA 'That Book Guy' along with his young son Robbie 'That Illustrator Guy' (possibly THE youngest published illustrator!!). Between them both Nigel and Robbie have created a wonderful children's book 'Freddie's Impossible Dream' written by Nigel and illustrated by Robbie.
Talented Robbie has also created 'Robbie's Cute Animal Colouring Book' full of his fun drawings - not just for children - who doesn't love a colouring book? and a range of cards featuring his own illustrations.

Describe your art/craft?
I am an author. My debut picture book, Freddie’s Impossible Dream, is unique because my son Robbie illustrated it, when he was 8 years-old. We are a father and son duo.
How long have you been creating? How did you learn your craft or were you self-taught?
Robbie has been drawing since he could hold a pencil, this is why he is so good at drawing. I am a primary school teacher by trade and I know run my own tutoring business called: That Book Guy – Tuition Services. I love promoting the benefits of reading for pleasure for children, which lead to my career highlight: winning The Early Career Teacher Award in The Egmont Reading for Pleasure Awards. I am extremely proud of this achievement, so I guess it was inevitable that I attempted to write my own book at some point. I couldn’t have guessed the success it has become and I really am overjoyed that I get to share this journey with my son.
What are your favourite art/craft 'tools of the trade'?
Where is your creative space?
Robbie isn’t bothered where he draws; he can be found all over the house drawing on any given day. I write on my laptop, usually with a cup of tea on the go.
What do you watch or listen to when you're creating?
What's your best-selling product?
Our debut picture book Freddie’s Impossible Dream. We are very proud that it has been sold in many countries around the world. We have sold copies in America, New Zealand, Australia, France to name just a few. We have also just released Robbie’s Cute Animal Colouring Book. It is Robbie’s solo creation, my only involvement was to add in the facts about each animal as I wanted their to be an education element to it, and I could not be prouder of him; I think the final product is FANTASTIC!
Favourite thing you've ever created? Do you still have it, or did you sell/gift it?
Random fact about yourself?
I used to be in the Royal Air Force and I completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2009.
What new craft would you love to try?
I have always liked the idea of having a go at creating clay pottery. Having seen it being done badly on the television though I can imagine it would take me a long time to master.

Give a shout-out to a fellow artist or crafter you admire!
My favourite authors are: Neil Gaiman, Matt Haig and Malcolm Gladwell to name just a few. My favourite book has to be The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I was actually given the book as a Christmas present by a colleague, it was his favourite book and he had never met anyone that had read it. Now I consider it my favourite book too! Books really are the best gift you can give.
